Is there any website that lets you see free marriage records without any fees? I’ve been searching and searching but can’t find one. I need records from 1940′s onward.
Sorry about the lack of detail, I’m new to this… I’m trying to find out who my grandfather’s first wife was, and when he married his second wife. We believe he may have married in Lauderdale county, TN.

I am looking to find some one’s maidden name. I know the spouse’s first and last name and the wife’s first name, but I want to know her maidden name. I live in Illinois. Is there some type of place that has these records. They are still alive well in their 60′s so I don’t want really old marriage records.
If you don’t know where I can actually get this information, can you please tell me who to call to find this out?

I once came across a website a couple of years ago which was just a huge list of the people born on what year you clicked on. Same with marriages. It was Texas records and I cannot find the website. Does anyone know how I can find a website like this? Everything I’ve come across costs money. This was a free database.

I’ve been trying to create a family tree by looking up family birth, death and marriage records but it seems like every website I go on either has limited resources or is asking for an extortionate amount of money to search for these records, or both. I’m just wondering if anyone who has made a family tree before could suggest good websites for this?
